The Coach House

Just steps away from the Main House lies the Coach House, a historic Tudor building with orange bricks and thick wood beams that was extended a few decades back into the rear garden. The owners were very keen on starting to enjoy the Coach House as part of their daily life, but its refurbishment had been put off for longer than they would have liked.

Several modifications had been added to the original building following different purposes and uses throughout the decades but now it was their time. The updated design brief focused on creating dedicated spaces for family life and leisure, incorporating a private gym and a generous social hub for hosting and entertaining.

We chose to treat the floors, walls, and ceilings as a neutral backdrop, enhancing the internal flow and allowing sightlines to extend uninterrupted in every direction. In contrast, the replacement black timber windows restore a sense of character and definition that had been lost over time.
